For most of us time is relative to our own lives. We cannot necessarily pinpoint the moment time had real meaning but somewhere around 4 or 5, we realized time mattered. Now at this young age, all that mattered was meal time, bed time and the time of our favorite show.
However, as we got older time become more relevant. Our morning, afternoon and evening routines were governed by time. Some of us adapted quickly while others not so much.
But can you imagine being above time?
Having neither beginning or end, having actual control over it. Now we might think our parents governed us with meal time and bed time but they were simply managing our time, not making it.
God as we see in 1 John 1:1-5 has been before time, this given him the ability to offer eternal life. Life begins at conception and ends mostly with the last breath. But the soul lives forever. Only God has the ability to make something that last forever.
He gave us the Word of Life, Jesus Christ, so that in him we could have life. An abundant life on earth full of love and joy, and eternal life where there would no long be sin, suffering or death.
This life comes through fellowship with Christ. A brotherhood, if you will, where Christ is the older brother who was sent to rescue the younger brother.
There is an association between time, life and brotherhood. For God is the source of time, life and family. He alone controls. So it is in him we trust.
To His Glory!
